Accidentally initiating a charging session—it happens!
Was a charging session started without your knowledge? Find out how that can happen, how to end a charging session, and what to do to prevent it from happening again.
Fast-charge station
Why did it happen?
- You mistakenly pressed a button on the navigation screen integrated in your car’s dashboard or you touched a button on the mobile app on your phone.
- Your vehicle was unplugged while the charging station was waiting to connect. If the connector was then plugged into another vehicle, the charging station connected to your charging session, which was waiting to start.
What should you do?
Before unplugging the connector from your car's charging port, press the stop button on the charging station.
If you have already left the premises, stop the charging session remotely, if possible, by pressing the stop button in the mobile app.
How can you prevent it from happening again?
Make sure you have ended the charging session properly before unplugging the connector.
Look at the charging station screen to confirm that the charging station is not waiting for a connection and that the charging session has been ended properly.
Standard charging stations (Level 2)
Why did it happen?
- You mistakenly pressed a button on the navigation screen integrated in your car’s dashboard or you touched a button on the mobile app on your phone.
- The connectors were not returned to the corresponding charging station.
What should you do?
Call technical support at the number on the charging station and ask the agent to end the charging session remotely.
How can you prevent it from happening again?
Confirm the charging station number before initiating the charging session.
Return the connector to the correct charging station and make sure the door is locked.
Make sure that the connector in the charging station you are about to use is the correct one.
